1950`s mementoes

The Sarnia walking Club have recently been given two memento trophies awarded back in 1950 and 1955 to the late Mrs J H Robert, one of the events all time “greats”. Story at http://sarnia.wordpress.com/2011/03/26/mrs-j-h-robert/

  1. my dad ralph le gallez did the church to church walks in 1949 does any body remember, i have just found out and have a certificate

  2. Hi Karen,
    I have mailed you a longer reply to your e mail address.I doubt if any of our current members will remember Ralph, as our oldest only started walking the Church in 1959. Did Ralph do any other sports?
    Would love to add a copy of the certificate to the website if it was possible to have a copy / scan of it.

  3. did i mention that ralph was a boxer as was his brother robert in those days for st andrews also ralph played darts for trafalger,

  4. Thanks for extra info on Ralph. Seems quite a few of the early walkers were into other sports as well as the church to church. Stan Smith who beat Otto was a boxer as well from what I read in trhe local papers.
