Entries received up to last night . More locals are expected to hand in entries at tomorrow evenings 3 kms walk. So at present the favourite I would think to be Jock Waddington from Isle of Man. Likely to be up the front end as well should be the IOM duo of Vinny Lynch and Sean Hands, along with Phil Lockwood (who should enter tomorrow) from Guernsey. Stuart Le Noury, who has a relatively slow best time in the Church Walk, has had a good season at the shorter distances on the island and could take a chunk off his best time and be up with the above mentioned.

The pick of the ladies should be Marie Jackson, the defending Champion and second fastest woman ever on the course. However the womens record holder from 1995, Cath Duhig has also entered, but as she will admit is nowhere near the speed of 16 years ago.

Norbet Will (Northern Ireland) pictured left and Marie Jackson (Isle of Man) have entered this years walk. Both walked for the first time last year, Norbet finished in 4.10.29, whilst Marie was the first woman home in 3.19.46.

Entries still open.

For those arriving early in Guernsey we have a 3 kilometres walk on the Friday evening (September 2nd) at 6.30 pm at Les Amarreurs, near Vale Church. No pre entry required, just a friendly get together before the Church to Church on the Sunday 4th September.

Three walkers from the Isle of Man, who all competed last year, have so far entered the Church to Church Walk.

Jock Waddington, 4th in 2010 in 3.04.11

Vinny Lynch, 6th in 2010 in 3.08.11

Sean Hands, 8th in 2010 in 3.14.25

Newcomer to the event John Payn from Lancashire has also entered.

Otto Le Gallez

A relative of Ralph Le Gallez who walked in the Church to Church walk in 1949 and had his certificate from then had enquired about him, which led me to the fact he was related to Otto Le Gallez, one of Guernseys early and memorable names in the sport.
